Recursive Resolver
Most systems in netwichtig.de run their own recursive resolver for several reasons, e.g. DNSRBLs, VPNs, etc.
Since Open Resolvers are generally considered bad practice and require a lot of attention, they are limited to localhost, internal networks, VMs, VPNs, etc. and are not publicly accessible.
Authoritative Nameserver
Primarily for the admins’ domains but open to hosting other people’s domains.
Netwichtig is part of a small group of server-admins who provide “secondary” services to each other.
